Work through a whistling ridgeline and stomp out a platform high above crystalline winter valleys. The Polaris is an ultra lightweight, single wall tent designed for mountaineering and winter conditions. A waterproof/breathable 3-layer PTFE-laminate fabric provides reliable shelter in white outs and downpours. DAC aluminum poles, in a freestanding three-pole design, will stand up to punishing winds and heavy blankets of snow. Flat pole sleeves and adjustable pole tension pockets keep the Polaris taut and aerodynamic in harsh conditions. Waterproof, silicone-coated nylon is used in the vents, pole sleeves, and vestibule to reduce weight and bulk. A fully featured tent that still weighs less than five pounds, the Polaris is suitable for any alpine challenge.

  • Winter alpinism's challenges are complex, but brutal cold calls for a simple solution. We use the best down (800-fill-power) and a new polyester shell fabric: extremely tough and durable, but still lightweight, windproof and, like the lining, downproof and water-repellent. The drawcord hood's small draft tube cleanly encircles your face; internal mesh drop-in pockets stow water bottles or spare mitts. Other fine points include soft, light, perforated hook-and-loop elasticized wrist cuffs and new reinforcements on shoulders and cuffs for greater durability. Fit is relaxed for layering. Deluge DWRPatagonia?s proprietary durable water repellent fabric finish, Deluge DWR, lasts substantially longer than standard DWRs. Garments with the Deluge DWR finish have like-new repellency after years of extensive use.

  • The dependable standard in outdoor insulation, the classic Mountain Hardwear Sub Zero Jacket for women is as essential as a reliable mountaineering rope. A four-season mountaineering shelter can save you from the elements and a -40F rated sleeping bag can provide adequate warmth, but it's your outerwear that's going to protect and insulate you all the way back to civilization, which is why this 650-fill down Sub Zero Jacket is an essential fit for extended climbs and backcountry skiing adventures. You'll find reinforcement fabric along the shoulder and arm in key abrasion areas and external fleece lined pockets to warm your digits and quickly stow some gear.
